Coronavirus: Travel Information and Terms

Coronavirus update: 02nd April 2020 

We’re working tirelessly to help resolve your queries due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. Below is the information regarding the current situation and our special change and cancellation terms.

Border closing

Russia closes its borders for all foreign visitors between March 18 and May 1, 2020. Here are the few exceptions: Diplomatic workers and members of their families; transit passengers; international ship, cargo, train, sea crew members performing their work duties; holders of special visas, issued to visit funeral of a person, permanently residing in Russia; Russian citizens and permanent residents.

About the cancelled international trains

The Russian Federation’s rail connection with other countries (except Belarus) has been temporarily suspended until further notice. We will provide a full refund of the paid costs of the tickets in Russian Rubles to our customers for the cancelled international train departures.

About the internal Russian Trains

Train services across Russia are currently running as normal. The trains provider does not waive its cancellation fee for the domestic Russian trains. Unfortunately, the foreigners cannot come to Russia from abroad because of the border closure for the period from the 18th of March till the 1st of June  2020. So, if you booked the domestic Russian train tickets before the 18th of March 2020 and need to change your travel plans, here are your options:

- Cancel with a reduced cancellation fee:

Bookings with the upcoming departures till the end of April 2020 can be cancelled with the cancellation fee of 500 rubles per ticket. Bookings departing from the 1st of June 2020 can be cancelled with the cancellation fee of 1400 rubles if the tickets have been issued, and without any fee, in case the tickets have not been issued. The paid costs will be refunded in Russian Rubles

- Postpone your trip (reschedule for a later date):

You can change your tickets to a different date/time and use the amount you paid in rubles as a deposit. We've waived our usual change fee, to help you during this uncertain time. We appreciate you may not know your new travel date, so feel free to change to any future date and you can edit this again if necessary nearer the time unless the new tickets have been already issued.
